Well, we're headed to WONDERCON next month! I'm excited to finally have my PARASITE MAN short story available at the show. I originally intended for the story to be included as a back-up story to issue 1, but I was lazy and added a few sketchbook pages to fill the remaining pages. The (extremely) short story will be 4 pages, 8.5 x 5.5" (same as issue 1) and be available in print at the shows we do and also free to read on the site's PREVIEWS page. That's not the actual cover on the right, its just a placeholder as the mini-comic is one folded letter sized sheet of paper. We need room for panels, not covers!
Issue 03 is coming along but has ballooned to 32 pages (all story, no filler), we hope to send it off to the printer in March or April. Sorry, not in time for WONDERCON. In the meantime, the first three pages are available on the PREVIEWS page.
Lastly, SPITFIREPIRATE COMICS is returning to SAN DIEGO COMIC CON INTERNATIONAL in July and we may have another show-exclusive mini-comic there.

Well, we're headed to SAN DIEGO COMIC CON INTERNATIONAL next month! The third issue is about a third or more complete, but I still wanted to have something EXCLUSIVE to the largest convention this summer.
Thanks to Christine for giving me the idea to feature that kid that was in ONE PANEL of Issue 02. There was always more to the character than what was essentially a gag in his debut appearance, so I was stoked on the idea to show what lead to his appearance in the story.
This mini-comic will be available in limited quantity on the show floor only during SDCC. It will be about 12 to 16 pages (I'll know exactly once I finish writing it) and will measure 8.5 x 5.5" This should be enough to hold over the Black Falcon & Sidekick fans until the release of the next part of the MONSTER CITY storyline.
We'll also have a new BLACK FALCON SDCC logo variant sticker & BLACK FALCON magnets available for the first time at the show. Hope to see you there...if you bought your tickets 3 years ago...

I’m overly grateful on the overwhelmingly positive comments on the completed issues.
The second book is finished and copies are on hand and available. Book two was labor intensive and repetitive, but also less stressful than the first one. It took a little over a year to complete, but it’s still less than half the time it took to complete book one. This time I didn’t have to worry about all the technical stuff. I already had a printer and my file sizes were already aligned. With this book, I feel like a real, actual-factual comic book guy.
The goal for 2022 is to finish book three and hit up at least one convention as an independent creator/publisher. Once book 3 is complete, we’re technically over the hump. The Monster City storyline will be five parts and I’m already getting anxious to finish this and move on to the next one.
Cameron and I are working on some cool sticker designs to sell along with the books at our first show…which hopefully is Comic Fest, right here in San Diego!
